InstaNews ("we", "our", or "the app") is a news aggregation application that delivers breaking news, financial market data, and global conflict reports. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the app operates. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

InstaNews is designed to be lightweight and privacy-respecting. We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:

• Push notification token — A device-level token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) generated by your device and used solely to deliver news alerts. This token is not linked to your identity.
• App preferences — Custom feed selections and notification preferences, stored locally on your device.
• Standard server logs — IP address, request timestamps, and user-agent strings retained briefly for security and abuse prevention purposes.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

• No account registration or sign-in is required.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to third parties.
• We do not build user profiles or engage in behavioral tracking.

4. How We Use Data

The limited data we collect is used exclusively to:

• Deliver push notifications for breaking news and alerts.
• Serve aggregated news content from public sources.
• Maintain service reliability and prevent abuse.

5. Third-Party Services

InstaNews uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Used for push notification delivery. Google Privacy Policy
• Public news APIs — News content is sourced from publicly available news feeds and APIs. No personal data is shared with these sources.

6. Data Retention

Push notification tokens are retained for as long as the app is installed on your device. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted. You can remove your notification token at any time by disabling notifications in your device settings or uninstalling the app.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we handle. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Firebase services are governed by Google's security standards. We do not store sensitive personal information and therefore minimize the risk of data breaches affecting users.

8. Children's Privacy

InstaNews is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.

9. Your Rights

Because we collect minimal data and no personally identifiable information, most traditional data rights (access, correction, portability) are not applicable. However, you may:

• Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
• Uninstall the app to remove your device's association with our push notification service.
• Contact us with any privacy-related questions or requests.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
